Our Upcoming Events

Come join us for a monthly day of support at New Mexico Cancer Center!

We will be at NMCC Albuquerque (4901 Lang Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109) on the first Wednesday of each month, and NMCC Gallup (2240 College Drive, Gallup, NM 87301) from 10:00am to 2:00pm, and on the third Wednesday of each month, from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

In addition to all of our wonderful Women’s Care Wednesday offerings, we have invited our amazing reiki masters to come and provide a special group reiki session with a guided meditation for WCW in Albuquerque, on October 1st! Because of this we will be limiting the attendance to 22 just for this month. We anticipate that we will fill up, so please RSVP quickly if you would like to attend.

We will offer Beautiful Warrior makeup and skincare classes, yoga with guided mediation, art therapy activities, and a peer led talking circle for each event, nutrition with Kevin & Dani from Functional Source Nutrition and more! We will also be serving lunch at each Women’s Care Wednesday Gathering.

In Albuquerque and Gallup, we will have art therapy, meditation, intentional movement, and a Beautiful Warrior experience!

It is not necessary to be a patient at New Mexico Cancer Center, but all attendees must be personally affected by cancer (or a caregiver of someone who is).

Please contact allison@pinkwarriorhouse.org with any questions, or for additional details regarding this event.

This is a wonderful group of Warriors, from all ages and stages, coming together to support one another through the journey of breast cancer. It is a peer support group, facilitated by other breast cancer thrivers.

This group is VIRTUAL ONLY and meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s each month.

We’re looking forward to seeing you virtually on October 1st! 💕

This is a wonderful opportunity for all of our Warriors navigating the challenges of life on the other side of active treatment. Those navigating their “new normal” as NED (no evidence of disease) have an opportunity to get together and discuss the mental and emotional challenges that come after chemo, radiation, and/or surgery.

This group will be IN-PERSON ONLY on the second and last Wednesday’s of each month.

We are hoping to have a guest speaker for the last Wednesday this month.

We hope to see you in-person on October 8th! 💕

This (virtual) class will focus on the gut-brain axis and include relevant information on nutritional ways to support the gut microbiome in the fight against chronic illness. We will explore recent research on how the gut-brain axis affects both mental and physical health and what role nutrition plays in that. The gut-brain axis is related to mood, behavior, cognition, digestion, and immune function which are all key in the battle against chronic illness including cancer and common co-morbid mental health diagnoses. We will discuss and prepare plant-based recipes and ingredients with the potential to provide prebiotic, probiotic, and health-promoting qualities in support of a healthy gut microbiome which offers potential benefits for overall brain and body function. Empower yourself to make healthier choices in your daily diet in order to support your mental and physical well-being through the promotion of a healthy gut-brain axis!

Amanda Kelly is a Certified Holistic Health and Cancer Coach specializing in plant-based nutrition to address chronic illness with a background in holistic mental health, crisis intervention, and community outreach and resource navigation. She obtained her Bachelors in Psychology and Political Science from the University of New Mexico and has a passion for working with local nonprofits to address systemic public health issues in underserved populations.

Please find the menu (so you can source your ingredients to cook along if you would like) and the Zoom link below.

We hope to see you on October 9th! 💕

Our monthly in-person Caregiver Groups are the second Monday of each month.

These monthly gatherings will be for the loved ones of all cancer thrivers as they navigate the journey of caring for and supporting someone on this difficult journey.

It will be a peer led group, co-facilitated by Chris Smith and Amy Liotta who both lovingly walked beside their spouses and other family members while they were battling cancer.

The group will be hosted at the Canteen Brewhouse, on the patio, in an area that will be reserved specifically for our group. These groups will be on the second Monday evening of every month.

The support group will be from 6:00-7:00, with an optional Social Hour from 7:00-8:00. So, we encourage caregivers to come grab a drink and/or some food, and get acquainted after the group as well.

Warriors, if you want to accompany your caregiver to Canteen that is wonderful, however the support group portion itself will be limited to caregivers only to give them their own space in which to share and support one another.

Please spread the word, and share with the caregivers in your life. Let’s help support our caregivers the way they love and support us each and every day! 💕

We understand that some of your needs and experiences are unique, and we want to provide a forum where you can come together (virtually) with other metastatic warriors to share, listen, and support one another.

This group will be offered in collaboration with Amy Bellomo Robinson, and the Radiant Healing Together Community.

We will be meeting virtually on the third Thursday of every month. This will be a virtual only gathering. Please find the Zoom link below for your reference.

The Salt Cave has re-opened, and we are thrilled to bring back the Salt Cave Sound Bath!

Guided Meditation with Sound Healing Experience featuring Christine Michel with The Salt Cave.

Relax, let go, and immerse yourself in a transformative Sound Healing session. This session features the enchanting sounds of crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs, and chimes, and you will be guided through a powerful meditation.

Based on the size of the salt cave, we must limit this experience to 10, so please be sure to RSVP accordingly. If you are interested in being added to a waitlist after capacity is reached, please call or text Allison at (505) 577-5264.

The sound bath will begin at 6:00pm, and we ask that you try and be there a few minutes before, so the event can begin on time.

We hope to see you on Monday, September 15th, in the Salt Cave! 💕

We are so excited to partner with Patti, and her team at CSP Dance Studios to offer you monthly dance parties (with professional instruction) on the 4th Friday of each month.

THIS MONTH WE WILL BE LINE DANCING.

No partners necessary, but please bring anyone you think would like to learn to dance. Friends and family are welcome to attend as well!

October 24th! 💕

Yin Yoga Salt Cave Yoga & Sound Bath.

The Salt Cave provides an immersive self-care and wellness experience where you can enjoy a variety of services including dry salt therapy in a large salt cave!

This is a 60-minute yoga session in the salt cave, with Stevie as the instructor for this month.

This session is limited to 12 breast cancer thrivers.

We anticipate that this class will end up on a waitlist.

If all 13 spots are taken, and you are interested in being added to the waitlist, please reach out to Allison.

We are paying for each individual slot, so that this can be a free program through PWH. So, if you commit to a space, and are unable to attend, please remove yourself from the RSVP, so that someone from the waitlist may attend accordingly.

Yin Restorative Yoga allows for the body to slow down, relax, and turn inward which helps alleviate stress and restore the body’s energy levels, while improving flexibility, boosting circulation, and reduces tension. The Salt Cave will help alleviate stress and anxiety as well. It provides a relaxing environment with a tranquil atmosphere, making it the perfect haven for mindfulness.

While “yang” yoga focuses on your muscles, yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, and joints. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.

We hope to see you on Saturday, October 25th! 💕
