Connie’s Chemo Care Bags was started by Lori Walker and Brit McDonald in 2017 to honor Lori’s mother Connie, who lost her 18-year battle with breast cancer. Connie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She fought with fierce strength, hope, and grace for so many years just to have one more day, one more precious moment with her family. Connie’s Chemo Care Bags are a way to honor her and support those who are about to embark on this life changing and very challenging treatment journey. Each bag is a gift of love, hope, and support filled with items that are useful and comforting for those starting breast cancer treatment. Being a breast cancer survivor myself, I received a similar bag in the mail the day before I started my treatment from a lady in Kansas, who I did not know. Receiving this bag, seeing all the thoughtful items inside, and reading a card filled with encouragement and hope gave me so much peace and comfort during such an unknown and stressful time. I wanted to share this same comfort and hope I received.  Lori joined the Pink Warrior House in 2023 and has now partnered with Allison and the PWH to create Connie’s Warrior Bags in hopes to take Connie’s Chemo Care Bags to the next level and be able to reach more women throughout the state of New Mexico.  Your donation covers the cost of the bag and the items included in each bag, such as blankets, beanies, warm socks, water bottles, hand sanitizer, lotion, journals, pens, and books. Each bag includes a card with words of encouragement and a touch of Connie’s strength, hope, and grace. These bags are a gift of hope and support donated and delivered to cancer centers throughout New Mexico.
