Our Upcoming Events
We are thrilled to partner with our friends at New Mexico Cancer Center to bring our Beautiful Warrior Class to their location this month. Come join us for a fun filled experience of pampering and learning on Friday, January 20th, from 10:00-11:30am. It is necessary to RSVP for this event. Also, please feel free to bring a friend or family member, and be sure to include them in your RSVP.
We are bringing back our monthly in-person Caregiver Groups for 2023. These monthly gatherings will be for our loved ones as they navigate the journey of caring for and supporting a cancer thriver in their lives. It will be a peer led group, co-facilitated by Chris Smith and Amy Liotta who both lovingly walked beside their spouses while they were battling cancer.
As our community of Pink Warriors grows, we have many more members who are on the journey specific to metastatic disease (Stage IV). We understand that some of your needs and experiences are unique, and we want to provide a forum where you can come together (virtually) with other metastatic warriors to share, listen, and support one another. This group will be offered in collaboration with Amy Bellomo Robinson, and the Radiant Healing Community.
This month we will focus on creative meditation through the use of the Zentangle Technique. This technique is Inspired by ancient Zen philosophy, Zentangle is the mindful technique of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. Drawing a Zentangle is said to help reduce anxiety and boost creativity.
Many of you have asked how you can help and support this beautiful community by volunteering your time and talents, and share more time together, with one another. So, throughout the year we will be hosting Volunteer Days. Once a month we will host a volunteer opportunity at Pink Warrior House, with a different project. Some options may include assembling Warrior Bags and Beautiful Warrior Bags, handwriting cards for our new Warriors. Learning to become Battle Buddies, helping prepare for upcoming events, and more!
This is a wonderful group of Warriors, from all ages and stages, coming together to support one another through the journey of breast cancer. It is a peer support group, facilitated by other breast cancer thrivers. We listened to the feedback we received about hybrid programming and have decided the adjust our approach. Moving forward, this group will now be IN-PERSON ONLY on the last Wednesday of each month.

About Pink Warrior House Foundation

Our Team
From our President and Founder, Allison Hendricks-Smith:
“I am a postpartum breast cancer survivor and was saddened during the duration of my years-long treatment journey to realize that we were under-served by meaningful breast cancer specific supports for those battling this difficult disease within our community. While our medical treatment options are quite strong, they don’t always address the mental, emotional, and social needs that arise during the journey for the patient and their caregiver(s). Pink Warrior House was born out of a vision to provide a centralized community of support for our breast cancer Warriors and their caregivers. We believe that we can, and should, be better about supporting those going through this difficult fight!”
We currently have a eight-member Board of Directors who have strong ties to the Breast Cancer community.
Allison has been serving in non-profit leadership roles within our community for more than 17 years. She is a licensed mental health counselor, a dedicated and compassionate leader and a proven community organizer. She may be reached at [email protected] or at 505.577.5264

Leadership, Planning, and Community Engagement
We currently have an eight-member Board of Directors who have strong ties to the Breast Cancer community here in Bernalillo County. Some of whom are breast cancer survivors and caregivers. We have and continue to connect with survivors to get their thoughts and ideas on what would help or would have helped during their treatment journeys. We also work with oncologists, nurses, nurse navigators, and other medical practitioners to attain their inputs and suggestions as well.
Our History
We were incorporated in January of 2019, and received our 501(C)3 that May. Since that time we have built and continue to grow our robust programming, expanded our membership community by hundreds, established a strong board of directors, partnered with local businesses, and recruited many loyal and dedicated volunteers and practitioners, and establishing our beautiful home on the grounds of Albuquerque’s historic Painted Lady B&B. It has been a busy few years, and we are proud of our growth and commitment to the local breast cancer community.
